Long Branch invites play and adventure everywhere you look. With so many trails and amenities in your own backyard, you will want to be outside in the warm Tennessee sunshine year-round. Over 3,000 acres is planned for public use, trails and open spaces. So come out and play. Walk the dog, train for the Lookout Mountain 100K or check out Riverbend for some great live music in Downtown Chattanooga this summer. Chattanooga is home to dozens of activities. You're sure to find the one that is just right for you! TrailsBiking
More than 15 miles of mountain biking trails exist within the Long Branch borders and thus are available exclusively for the homeowners and their guests. But, in addition, the Cloudland Connector Trail built by the Lula Lake Land Trust and maintained by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources meanders through the edge of Long Branch and is easily accessed by several of our own trails. The Connector Trail will ultimately extend almost 15 miles to Cloudland Canyon State Park providing world class riding immediately out your back door. In addition, the Chattanooga area is becoming nationally known for systems of bike trails including Raccoon Mountain and Enterprise South, built and maintained by Southern Off-Road Biking Association (SORBA) (http://sorbachattanooga.org/). RunningThe tails within Long Branch are multi use for non-motorized modes, as is the Cloudland Connector Trail. For trail runners Long Branch is a paradise. Locally, world class trail running is promoted by an organization named “Run in the Boonies” (http://www.runintheboonies.org) which sponsors and promotes numerous events including a 100K run each December that goes through at least four miles of Long Branch. What does that tell you about Long Branch’s setting – a 60 plus mile run through the woods that goes right through our property! EquestrianMany of the same expansive system “internal” trails discussed under biking and riding are perfect for trail riding as well. They provide the rider with miles of scenic trails and many natural obstacles such as stream crossings. In addition, the Cloudland Connector Trail is wide open for horseback riding which means for Long Branch homeowners a substantially long trail ride (ultimately 30 miles!) can be taken without having to trailer your horse anywhere! In the center of the residential community of Long Branch, a professionally designed riding ring with an emphasis on surface, draining and size provides open arena riding year round.
LakesLake Lauraour swimming hole! This one acre pristine, deep, cool body of water is equipped with a diving dock, a floating dock for kids (of all ages) to swim to. It also boasts a classic rope swing and has the coolest Tree House overhanging the lake. The picnic area next to the lake is the sight of many great activities, and is especially peaceful when the waterfall is running at full tilt. Lake Sarah Zaneour fishing and boating lake, this five acre lake has several of the lots looking over it. It has two boathouses which blend into the natural setting with their poplar bark siding and rustic look. Fly fishing and kayaking are among the activities that take place on Lake Sarah Zane. Village GreenIn the center of the residential area of Long Branch is a 30,000 sq foot “yard” to provide an area for recreation, again for all ages. It is often the scene for games of all kinds including soccer and softball. Concerts and weddings have happened on the Village Green and it can suffice for the homeowner who wants this amenity for his family but does not want the burden of taking care of his own front yard.
Barn ApartmentCommensurate with the idea of having a “front yard” that you don’t have to take care of personally is the idea of a “guest apartment” than can be reserved by any homeowner for visiting family and friends. You don’t have to build that one extra guest room!. The barn apartment is used all times of the year and is a convenient place for birthday parties and the like as well. Barn & Horseback RidingLong Branch is a 400 acre residential preserve with the spirit of horses and nature nestled in the hills of North Georgia on top of Lookout Mountain near the Tennessee line. The focus and goal of Long Branch Barns is to provide the highest quality in horse care, promote educated horsemanship and riding, and provide a safe and relaxing environment for horse and rider to enjoy.
This barn is one of Chattanooga's premier equestrian facilities that promotes hunter/jumper showing as well as pleasure and trail riding. The large riding arena offers the rider a place to practice control and movements on the flat or over fences. The property also has an expansive trail system that provides the trail rider with miles of trails and many natural obstacles including water crossings, natural jumps and plenty of hills as well as beautiful natural scenery to take in while on the trails. Our trail system is vast and links to other trail systems in the Georgia State Parks system and the Lula Lake Land Trust. Riding RingMany of the same expansive system “internal” trails discussed under biking and riding are perfect for trail riding as well. They provide the rider with miles of scenic trails and many natural obstacles such as stream crossings. Camping/CampsitesThroughout the 400 acres owned entirely by the homeowners and connected by the numerous trails are many sites appropriate for camping. What a great feeling to know you can take your kids or grandkids directly out your front door and feel like you have traveled to a distant wilderness area to experience the joys of camping. |
